A rewarding experience

A rewarding experience

For Teachers

Dianne says:

“Teaching in Thailand is an awesome and life-changing experience. If you feel the need to grow, wish to make changes in your life and wish to help others, then this is the place to do it. I work at two schools in Northern Bangkok. At both schools my students are well behaved, respectful and eager to learn. Thai children are brought up in a culture that teaches them respect. My students also create an atmosphere of positivity and happiness, which makes it a pleasure to work with them. Teaching the children has been a rewarding experience for me. It has taught me to be more confident and to work with my inner child? How many of us have forgotten how to be innocent, playful and have fun? It has also shown me that I can connect with people across a cultural, language and age barrier? What a great experience. I can highly recommend coming to Thailand and teaching. You'll never look back.”

What do I wear?
It is important to wear very formal attire in any professional occupation in Thailand, especially when teaching. Both men and women must wear clothing that covers their knees and shoulders, and closed footwear. Thai culture is one of respect and a smart dress code is very important as a way to garner that respect.

How will I get around?
There are so many kinds of public transport available in Thailand that you will not be at a loss for a way to get around. For short distance travel in the area where you live, there are motorbike taxis and Tuk Tuks (3-wheeled motorized vehicles). For traveling longer distances, there are buses, taxis, the subway (MRT) and the sky train (BTS). All these are reliable cheap and hassle free.

Is there anything to do?
Thailand has so many beautiful and interesting places to see that you just can't get bored. Thailand has become infamously known for its beautiful islands and beaches -- a must see. Equally as beautiful are Thailand's mountains and jungles. They offer a rich variety of wildlife from elephants and bears to deer and jackal. Thailand is steeped in history and a visit to some historical areas is definitely worthwhile. The temples are beautiful and interesting. The Buddha statues are fascinating and you can light candles and incense in the temples as a special part of your visit. The rivers are another place highly celebrated by the Thai people. It is of great interest to see historical Thai barges as well as go for a barge ride along the rivers. For those who enjoy the city more, Bangkok offers a world class nightlife full of entertainment, from shopping to clubbing, live bands, concerts and the like. In short, you won't be bored!

Thai culture and people
Thailand is known as the land of smiles because the people here are so friendly and helpful. Thai culture is fascinating, welcoming and will see and experience something new constantly. It never ceases to amaze.
